Unifor’s national website unifor.org, has undergone a substantial makeover with a modern new design to make it easier for members to stay up to date, connect with campaigns, and connect with their union.
Unifor’s communications department has spent months redesigning Unifor.org to better meet the union’s needs with an updated, mobile friendly theme.
The new website supports the union’s multi-media campaigns to make help ensure that the voice of workers is loud and clear online in Canada.
“Unifor is a loud union, and our member’s experiences and campaigns deserve a strong spotlight like the one this new website can offer,” said Jerry Dias, Unifor National President. “This project has been a work in progress for many years, and I’m proud to present an easy to use website that puts Unifor’s campaigns and news front and centre.”
For workers who aren’t yet members of our union, the support of a union organizer is only a click away.
The new site also eliminates the need for Unifor’s mobile app, which will be winding down over the next month.
In early 2020, Unifor embarked on the website redesign project to comply with the improved Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, which requires websites to be accessible to users with visual and other disabilities.
“As a union we don’t want to just meet compliance to check a box, we want to pay close attention to the design and development to exceed the minimum requirements so we can be socially inclusive to all members, regardless of their ability,” said Natalie Clancy, Unifor’s Communications Director. “Unifor is a union for everyone, including the more than 6 million Canadians who experience some form of barrier when using the web.”

A new website service for local unions will also be launched on the same new platform, with access to national news feeds and resources, next month.
