Vancouver Sun and Province subscribers have received a letter warning that the papers will be smaller for a while.

Here’s a letter Province subscribers received. Sun subscribers got basically the same letter:

Dear Subscriber,

We are writing to inform you that we are currently facing a newsprint shortage due to road closures caused by the recent flooding and mudslides.

We are doing everything we can to stretch out our inventory, so you will notice a condensed version of The Province and we will have all of the regular features you enjoy in the print product available on our digital platform.

You can register your print subscription to access the online e-edition here and visit theprovince.com to keep on top of the stories that matter most to you.

We will continue to communicate updates with you as we have them. This is a fluid situation that is changing daily.  However, we are committed to bringing you robust news coverage every day.

We appreciate your patience and loyalty as we navigate this challenging situation.

Please do not reply to this email as we will not be able to quickly respond.  If you need to contact us, please use our automated system by clicking here.

Thank you for your patience and continued support.
