UPDATE:

Vice president Bill Catterall has been acclaimed Local 2000’s new secretary-treasurer.

Bill takes over from Jennifer Moreau, who left the local to become a national rep for the union.

Bill, who has represented the union at Pacific Newspaper Group in recent years, was sworn in to his new full-time position at the union executive meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 14.

Nominations are now open for the position of Local Secretary-Treasurer of Unifor Local 2000.

Subsequent to the departure of the Secretary-Treasurer, the position became vacant effective November 28, 2022.  In accordance with Local 2000’s Constitution, namely Article VIII, Section 7, this is the official notice of a vacancy in the position of Secretary-Treasurer.

The vacancy is for the period remaining in the current term of Local Secretary-Treasurer, which ends December 31, 2024.  This is a full-time paid position that requires the servicing and representing members of the Local.  Additionally, this position is responsible for managing the financial affairs of the Union.

Any member of Local 2000 in good standing may be nominated and run for the position.

Potential candidates should be nominated by members of Local 2000 in good standing and the nominations must be in writing and forwarded to the Local 2000 office no later than 5 pm on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 .  Nominations may be submitted by mail or email per the following:

If an election is necessary, the election will be held by electronic ballot on the Simply Voting platform from January 18, 2023 to January 25, 2023. As per our Local Constitution, the voting will end at noon on Wednesday, January 25, 2023.
