Call for Nominations and notice of Election for delegates
to Unifor’s Constitutional Convention
Unifor Constitutional Convention – Toronto
August 8 to 12, 2022
9 am to 5 pm each day
We are calling for nominations for the upcoming Unifor Constitutional Convention being held in Toronto Ontario in August.
We are looking for two delegates to represent the local during proceedings of the convention.
If we receive more than two nominations, an election will be held to determine which two people will represent the local at convention.
Expectations:
- You will be expected to attend all sessions between 9 am and 5 pm each day of convention.
- You will be expected to attend events organized outside of the hours listed above.
- You will need to report back to the Executive Board at the September 16th board meeting.
- You will build on relations with other locals and the National Union during convention.
Timelines:
Nominations will be open from Wednesday, May 18 to May 27, 2022, closing at noon.
If an election is necessary, the election period will be from May 31 to June 10, 2022, with the election being held between June 6 to June 10 by electronic ballot on the Simply Voting platform. The voting will end at noon on Friday, June 10, 2022.

For the successful delegates, travel, hotel, lost time and per diem as per the local’s policy manual will be covered by the local.
