Some of the guys came to Vancouver and worked at Pacific Press.

The union paid the Printers in Toronto strike pay for 7 years, I think it was 70% of the highest night-rate in the city.

In 1970 the ITU paid the Printers and the Mailers in Vancouver 60% of the highest night-rate in Vancouver.

And strike pay was tax-free.

In those days all ITU members paid 1/2% of their salary into the strike fund. We had strength in those days.
