A UNION

FOR YOU

If you work in print or design

The B.C. Media Union, Unifor Local 2000 (and its predecessor locals), has been representing people working in the newspapers, print and design since 1884. We currently represent most of the journalists, designers, sales staff, press operators, mailers and others working at newspapers and commercial printers across the province.

Our largest employers are Postmedia, Black Press and Glacier Media, and we also represent workers at smaller printing facilities, such as Mitchell Press, Marine Printers and SpeeDee Printing Solutions.
Our contracts ensure job security, fair treatment, good wages and benefits, plus excellent severance and clear rules when layoffs occur.

If you work in video gaming, special effects or digital animation

Together with people working in the industry, we will be creating DigiUnion BC, a community chapter of Unifor Local 2000.

The purpose of DigiUnion BC will be to unite all those who work in special effects, digital animation and video gaming, to improve working conditions and to lobby on behalf of the workers in these vibrant and growing industries.
Local 2000 is offering its decades of experience in representing media workers and the backing of Unifor, the largest private sector union in Canada, to help build good jobs in these new industries.
