Columnist Shelley Fralic identified with her readers and they loved her for it

Shelley died in her New Westminster home on Monday night, in bed. The cause of her death, so sudden and unexpected, has yet to be determined.

She was 68.

What can I tell you about Shelley that would do her justice in the space of a single column?

She was fearless. She was funny. She was tough. She was my closest friend and colleague at The Sun. She once saved my career when she persuaded an editor not to fire me.
