All members of Local 2000, as well as their children and grandchildren, are eligible to apply for the 2018 Harold Dieno Scholarship. The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a member, their child or grandchild, to help cover the costs of post-secondary education, including skills training.
Applicants must email contact information, proof of post-secondary registration and acceptance, plus a 500-word essay or a five-minute digital audio file on the theme of “What can unions do to better adapt to technological age?” to [email protected] (with Harold Dieno Scholarship in the subject line), or mail a hard copy to Harold Dieno Scholarship, Unifor Local 2000, 688 West Hastings Street, Suite 470, Vancouver, BC, V6B 1P1.
Local union officers and executive members will choose the scholarship winner based on the essay or audio file. Past winners are not eligible.
The application deadline is Aug. 1, 2018.  The winner will be notified by Sept. 1, 2018.  Payment of the $1,000 will be made after the winner has been notified.
